BJC HealthCare is one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States, and is focused on delivering services to residents primarily in the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois and mid-Missouri regions. BJC serves the health care needs of urban, suburban and rural communities and includes 12 hospitals and multiple community health locations. Services include inpatient and outpatient care, primary care, community health and wellness, workplace health, home health, community mental health, rehabilitation, long-term care and hospice. BJC HealthCare is nationally recognized and is affiliated with Washington University School of Medicine.
This manual has been developed as a system-wide, collaborative effort, initiated by BJC HealthCare, Planning and Design Group. The purpose is to inform contracted professionals, owner representatives and project stakeholders of BJC HealthCare's expectations regarding policies, procedures and guidelines for planning, design and construction projects. This manual would not be possible without the encouragement and support of BJC leadership.
