About The Author


M.K. Sholund's passion for books and writing started with elementary school Scholastic Book Fairs, reading anything and everything about haunted places and the paranormal. This lead to working at Borders Books, Music, and Cafe in the 1990s. After attending Towson University, she became a published freelance writer for several trade magazines in the early 2000s. After switching to writing horror in both short fiction and novels her works have been published in the Creatures, Crimes & Creativity 2025 Anthology and recently received an honorable mention for a short story for the 2025 Writing Battle: Fear writing contest. 150+ Prompts: A Creative Writer's Journal with BookBaby is M.K,'s debut non-fiction book inspired by working with writers with the Maryland Writers Association where she serves as the Carroll Chapter president of the MWA, is a member of the Horror Writer's Association, speaks at events, and manages a Substack called Horror on the Page. M.K. calls Maryland her home and lives with her husband and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
