I was born in Aurora,Illinois in 1949 and moved to Lake Bluff,Illinois at the age of two. I loved sports and competition of all kinds as early as i can remember. I attended K through 8th grade in Lake Bluff and then graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1967. I played football,basketball and baseball for the LFHS Scouts. I earned a degree in Marketing at Miami University and played four years of Division One baseball. Upon graduation I went to work for Ford Motor Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. A fortuitous transfer to Chicago resulted in my meeting my wife Susan who I married in 1975. I continued my education earning an MBA from Northern Illinois University. Daughter Caroline was born in 1977 and daughter Meredith in 1982. Numerous Ford transfers occurred ultimately ending in Detroit in 1991 where we still reside in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Upon retirement form Ford in 2001, I immediately started my second career as President of Southgate Lincoln Mercury. Now retired Susan and I spend our winters in Naples, Florida and summers in Beverly Hills and Glen Arbor, Michigan. Daughter Caroline Dobbins works for Pandora Radio in Chicago and Meredith is a teacher also in Chicago.
