     Channing Kury practices philosophy in the guise of law on Long Island, New York.  He attended The Mercersburg Academy, Cornell University and the University of New Mexico School of Law.  He is a member of the state bars of New York and California.

     Channing Kury is the author of professional articles on avian biology, natural resource management, conservation philosophy and Abraham Lincoln's last jury trial.  He also edited Enclosing the Environment: NEPA's transformation of conservation into environmentalism (1985).

     He has practiced law for over forty years.  In his masterpiece trial, he gained the acquittal of his client by asserting an entrapment defense in Operation Panama that was prosecuted by the United States Attorney for New Mexico.
