André Akinyele serves as owner, game developer, and software engineer at Ajamu, where he develops apps, games, software, and websites. Akinyele is the author of the short essay “What’s So Special About Scrum?” Written for the Information Technology (IT): Software Engineering Master’s Degree Program at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC), the essay is used as a reference worldwide in industry and colleges, and inspired his new 2019 book "So, What's the Big Deal About Scrum: A Methodology Handbook for Developers." In the fall of 2015, Akinyele became interested in software engineering and enrolled at UMUC where he obtained a M.S. in Information Technology (IT): Software Engineering.

Since the late 80s and under numerous names, Akinyele has recorded, produced, and released several albums as a recording artist and musician. He also co-authored the book “Elliptical: The Music of Meshell Ndegeocello.” He is a multi-instrumentalist and the leader and bassist of the jazz/funk/fusion band Gemini Soul; the vocalist and keyboardist of the Canadian electronic/pop duo Lavender Lush; and the vocalist, guitarist, and bassist for the funk/rock band Looking for Lester.
