Mawuli grew up in the Nehemiah Homes, in Brownsville Brooklyn. The Neighborhood is known for broken homes and broken families, but Mawuli had the powerful example of his parents: growing up in a two-parent household, he was blessed to witness unconditional love. Mawuli is a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Education from Boston College. He also holds a Master of Arts in Educational Policy and Social Analysis from Columbia University's Teacher's College. He has traveled the world extensively and through his travels, he has lived and loved.
