About the Author

Lisa J. Scott is an author, attorney, publisher, entrepreneur, and systems thinker whose work examines the hidden architectures shaping human life. Across books on artificial intelligence, education, business, institutions, identity, relationships, creativity, and personal sovereignty, she explores how underlying systems influence what people perceive, create, and become.

Rather than writing within a single genre, Scott has created an interconnected body of work spanning business, philosophy, memoir, cultural observation, literary nonfiction, and fiction. Her books form a growing intellectual library organized around recurring questions of clarity, authorship, capability, meaning, and transformation.

Her recent work examines the changing relationship between human beings and intelligent systems. In Proof of Work: How AI Must Change What Education Teaches, Measures, and Rewards, she presents a framework for evaluating not only what a student produces, but what the student can explain, defend, apply, adapt, connect, and extend. Her Operating System books similarly reveal the structures beneath subjects ranging from artificial intelligence and creativity to institutions, aging, and human development.

Professionally, Scott is the founder and CEO of in2edge, an M&A transition execution firm specializing in complex acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, and large-scale contract transitions. Her career in law, strategy, leadership, and systems design continues to inform her writing.

Scott studied Anthropology and Chinese Studies at the University of Michigan and earned her law degree from California Western School of Law. She also studied at Peking University and Oxford University and has lived and traveled extensively throughout Asia and Europe.
