J.K.'s story started during Covid-19 in 2020. He was forced by his old roommates to play Dungeons and Dragons during quarantine, despite his insistence that it was a "game for nerds that didn't look like any fun." After begrudgingly giving in to peer pressure, J.K. played and could not believe how much he loved it. As a matter of fact, he actually loved it so much that he ended up writing his own homebrew campaign that he ran for a couple of different groups. All of them said it was brilliant and that he should consider publishing it one day because the world he created, "The Beyond," was loaded with creativity, lore, and insane plot twists. For years J.K. put it off, trying to make excuses for how much work it would be to publish a book, until finally he decided it was time to do it; it was time to accomplish something he had wanted to do but was too scared to attempt. In 2025, J.K. founded his own writing and publishing company, Unknown Archives LLC., with his first book, "The Mystery at Blythe," being released the same year in June. J.K. has three more installments on the way in the world of "The Beyond" and plans to continue to share his love for roleplaying games and advocate for how valuable they are in finding community and rediscovering imagination that has been lost due to social media, AI, and other distractions.
J.K. holds 3 different degrees, including a Master's in Biblical Literature. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree while serving as a full-time student minister. J.K. previously taught ethics and religion at the collegiate level. He was formerly an avid competitive tennis player and now does the same with pickleball.
