I was born in a small, seaside town where I was surrounded by nature and near the sea. I was drawn to music as a child and I began painting as a teenager, taking private lessons, with encouragement from Aunt Sibil who had been an expressionist painter in the 1940s, in Melbourne. In my 20s, I joined the Creative Studies Group working on the art therapy process of Dr. Ita Wegman and Rudolf Steiner in Melbourne and was a student of Latvian painter and jewellery maker, Ligsma Kirpe.
My creative expression in music and art, my synethesia and inner spiritual life and practice have gone hand in hand and has lead me to be a spiritual seeker, walking many spiritual paths, learning from many teachers. I have drawn from different spiritual traditions including Wicca, Buddhism, contemplative Christianity and Eco and Feminist theology. This has influenced my musical composition writing pieces such as Lotus Flower (1992)
In 1991, I began composition studies with Lawrence Whiffen and Post tonal music theory with John McCaughey at Latrobe University culminating in an honours year in Composition in 1997.
After several years living in England and Germany, where I visited many sacred sites, recognising deep spiritual knowledges within. I attended the Hibernia school of Art Therapy in 2005.
I have graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Women's Studies, an honours degree in music composition. Later, I went on to study a Graduate Certificate in Feminist Theology and a Master of Divinity.
