As a Cuban national with US citizenship my road to the freedom that I enjoy had many twists and turns. Keep my identity as private as possible helps protect me from people who lack goodwill and some I'd like to leave them in the past.

Meeting James at a tiki bar on a beach in Cuba was one of the best things that ever happened to me.  While at first, I put him off as a typical tourist, the respect he showed my cousin the bartender led me to understand that there was much more depth to him than first meets the eye.

Keeping a journal was always part of my makeup and when I met James, I was in the process of putting them to prose.  My experiences were sexy as hell, but they lacked a story to hold them together.  This is where James stepped in, and over some rum and under a tropical sun we formed an alliance that to this day still holds true.

Many of the sexual situations found in the “Voyages” involve bdsm and on this nuance we agree – there is a huge difference between pain and hurt.  You will not find our characters involved in nonconsensual sex, but what the reader will find is an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of such engagements.  We believe you will find stimulation in thoughts buried by polite society.  Enjoy the voyage.

James,

Unlike my coauthor I am a bit bashful, but that is not why I feel a need to somewhat disguise my identity.  Erotic writings can get a schoolteacher in a lot of trouble, and while I see nothing wrong with what transpires between consenting adults, students are a different matter.  I still teach woodworking, though hands-on courses are getting scarce.

From the beginning Aisling and I made consent a foundation of our work, and where sexual acts involving restraints or pain may be forced or coerced.  You will not find that form of this form of cheap titillation glorified in any of our books, we are of like mind in that bdsm is only enjoyable when a mutual understanding is reached prior to engagement.  However, you will encounter characters will ill intentions, but you will also be introduced to personas lacking in the qualities of greed and dominance.  There is a fine line between erotica involving both, such as pirates and seamen, and the women of this time.

Sexuality is only human and is the essence of love. Variety makes us interesting, and when approached properly, variety can make sex interesting as well.  It should be of no surprise that I composed nearly all of the sailing portions found in our voyages, but this should not implied that Aisling supplied all of the sexual scenes.  I choose to listen more than I speak, and it seems as if this tendency has placed me in many intimate discussions and situations, some of which are also included in our stories.

I love writing though for most of my life it was a dread.  Marketing on the other hand is not in my wheelhouse.  I know that it is childish of me to expect a good piece will speak for itself.  Aisling is a marketing master, but her skills are best one to one.  It is my hope that our humble start catches and grows with each new book.
