About the author
Dr. Tanton was born in 1933 in Springfield, Oregon, and lived there most of his life until joining the Merchant Marines in 1951, at age 17.
By 1955, he owned his own house and car, got married, and traded in the Merchant Marines for civilian life. He spent the next seven years owning and operating several businesses.
At the advice of a friend, and looking to the future, he decided to change careers. In 1962, he leased his businesses, and enrolled in the Automation Institute of Seattle. After graduation with honors, he started a new career of computer programming, and system design, which lead to jobs with Boeing, Thiokol Corporation, and Computer Sciences Corporation, to name a few.
At this same time, Dr. Tanton’s interests changed to health and longevity after reading the book by Adelle David, “Eat Right to Keep Fit”. Thus he also began reading and researching many different health issues, and has continued doing so ever since.
Fast forward to 1994, when Dr.Tanton enrolled in Clayton School of Healing. He graduated with honors, and obtained a Ph.D. in Holistic Nutrition. Dr. Tanton does not have a clinical practice, but instead conducts research, and has become an award-winning author. He does speaking engagements, has written magazine articles, written and published several books, and is currently working on publishing eBooks.
His first book, A Drug-Free Approach to Healthcare, won the Pinnacle Book of the Year Award, in the health category, in 2005.
He has also written Antidepressants, Antipsychotics, and Stimulants – Dangerous Drugs on Trial (2007), A Drug-Free Approach to Healthcare – 2009 Revised Edition, and Reversing Type 2 Diabetes While Removing Fat (2010).
Dr. Tanton currently serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the worldwide organization CCHR (Citizen's Commission on Human Rights), and the Advisory Board of Doctors for GardaVita, a quality nutraceutical supplement manufacturing company, as well as belonging to the National Health Federation (NHF), established in 1955.
Dr. Tanton is the founder and research director of the Soaring Heights Longevity Research Center in Springfield, Oregon, where he currently resides. He was labeled by the local media as the "Time Machine," and by some Native Americans as the "Miracle Man on the Hill."
At 78 years of age, Dr. Tanton is 100% drug-free, and has never been healthier at any age. He is one of those dedicated scientists that never stop looking for answers. Any health issues that might be considered by many as incurable, to Dr. Tanton is just one more challenge to resolve. From more than five decades of research, he feels he understands the basic underlying causes of most diseases, and how they can be avoided, and often eliminated.
