Yesterday Wish It Were

By Michael Hearndon

Overview

Yesterday wish it were, is a group of short stories. All true, and in a close chronological order. The time frame is dating back to 1902 up till today. Some of the stories are quite funny and not long winded. to be honest, most include myself and my buddy Larry. somethings were a bit hard to explain without a picture, but I did the best I could. My wife thinks this would be a good travel book, on short trips to read if you are not driving, but personally, I would leave it in my bathroom. Either way, it will make you smile I believe.

Description

Many of these short stories were told to me by family members or from people that I knew were present in in the story. Life was a much simpler time, while I was growing up. Much of the time things were commonplace and nothing of any significance occurred. But when things happen, in most cases, you were on your own. Times were tuff, in my lifetime, but I have told many people, wife and family, that I wish I had lived in my father's time. Yesterday,,, wish it were.

About The Author

I come from a long line of Hearndon's dating back to 1864 when James Madison Herndon moved is family from Virgina down to Florida. There was a name change due to father and son getting their mail mixed up. The little town I grew up in call Fellsmere is well known for its Frog Leg festival. I still live here because of the marshes that were a huge part of my family's life here. Nearly everyone I've know had something to do with hunting, fishing, pole boats, and airboats. Except for the time I served in the United States Marine Corps., and the time spent offshore, King Mackrell fishing. A good portion of my time was spent in the marshes around the St. Johns river from Titusville south to the Head waters of the river at Blue cypress Lake and Ft. Drum swamp. I've spent some time in the Kissimmee river into the Okeechobee lake. I have also made hunting trips south into the glades area in the late 60's early 70's and again when I was in my 70's, staying at a fish camp near Krome Ave. I did have a frog Leg business for nearly ten years. I had to jump through all the hoops of government policies and rules. But it was worth it. I caught more than my share of Frogs. I'm hoping sometime when my oldest son retires in the next few years if I'm still able to make one last trip south to the Glades and make one last Frog Hunting trip, God willing. I also want to mention Larry Yates, a friend I've known sense school. He and I hunted often together everywhere. It would be great if he could come with me and my son Brian, like Yesterday,,, wish it were.
