Overview
Will lives by a strict routine. He simply works to help those who've passed get to where they belong. Before he does, he shares a nice meal with them and hears about their life to make sure his judgement is done correctly. But he always wondered what it would be like to live - to really be human. When his boss brings him a trainee, she starts to ask all the questions he was too scared to say out loud, and he wants answers.
Description
Will is a judge, an arbiter who some get to meet once they've died. He runs a diner on a floor of a building impossibly large and far beyond the parameters of anything human. If you meet him you get to have a chat with him over a meal, one of your favorite even if you didn't realize it. You talk about your memories and then you leave, to heaven or hell it's up to him. But Will wants to be on the other side of these visits, and when his boss gives him a new girl, Roxanne, to train. She starts to question everything about Will's life, about their job, the same way he has for a long time. He wants to know what it's like to live and die, to love and hate, to be afraid and brave, to find out what really makes someone human.
