Who is God?

Understanding His Nature, His Presence and His Power

By Paul Carrette

Overview

Humanity has wrestled with that question throughout history; attempting to define, explain, and even reduce God through culture, philosophy, imagery, and human understanding. Yet the God of Scripture transcends every limitation of human imagination while still making Himself known through His power, presence, mercy, and love. Dr. Paul Carrette takes readers on a powerful journey through Scripture, exploring the many ways God revealed Himself throughout the Bible. From Creator to Redeemer, Provider to Healer, Deliverer to Sustainer, each chapter unveils another dimension of God's limitless nature and covenant relationship with humanity. This is more than a theological study; it is an invitation to encounter the living God. He is greater than our definitions, beyond our depictions, and higher than our imaginations. God is...

Description

One of the greatest pursuits of humanity is the search to know God. Across generations, cultures, and civilizations, people have wrestled with life's most profound questions: Who is God? What is He like? Can He be known? Does He care about humanity? These questions have inspired philosophers, theologians, scholars, and seekers throughout history. In Who Is God?, Rev. Dr. Paul Carrette invites readers on a remarkable journey through Scripture to discover God as He reveals Himself. Rather than relying upon human speculation, religious tradition, or philosophical theory, this book points us to the ultimate source of truth—the Word of God. Within its pages, we encounter the God who creates, redeems, restores, heals, provides, guides, disciplines, comforts, and loves. One of the strengths of this work is its balanced presentation of God's character. Dr. Carrette does not attempt to reduce God to a single attribute or description. Instead, he carefully explores the many ways God has revealed Himself throughout biblical history. From Genesis to Revelation, we see the majesty of His sovereignty, the depth of His mercy, the purity of His holiness, the certainty of His justice, and the immeasurable greatness of His love. What makes this book particularly meaningful is that it is written not merely from academic study, but from the perspective of a man who has spent decades walking with God, serving His people, and proclaiming His truth. Through 40 years of ministry, Dr. Carrette has witnessed God's faithfulness in seasons of triumph and adversity alike. The pages that follow reflect both biblical conviction and personal experience. In a world filled with confusion about God's nature and intentions, this book offers clarity. In an age where many have formed opinions about God based on the failures of others, Dr. Carrette calls us back to the Scriptures and encourages us to know God as He has chosen to reveal Himself. The result is a compelling portrait of a God who is not distant or detached, but personal, relational, and deeply invested in His creation. Whether you are a lifelong believer, a new follower of Christ, or someone honestly searching for answers, you will find encouragement, insight, and inspiration within these pages. More importantly, my prayer is that this book will move beyond informing your mind and will lead you into a deeper relationship with the living God. As you begin this journey, approach these pages with an open heart and a willing spirit. The God who revealed Himself to Abraham, Moses, David, Isaiah, the apostles, and countless believers throughout history still desires to reveal Himself today. May this book help you discover not merely information about God, but a life-changing encounter with Him. For there is no greater knowledge, no greater privilege, and no greater pursuit than to know the One who declares, "I AM."
