Description
Dive into the thrilling world of **"White Water,"** a riveting novel by Richard Blount that propels readers into the tumultuous waters of Lieutenant Sean Riley's life. Set against the backdrop of the United States Coast Guard and the sun-soaked shores of Marina del Rey, California, this adrenaline-fueled adventure follows Riley, a seasoned waterman, adventurer, and former US Navy SEAL, as he confronts dangers both natural and man-made. With an 82' patrol boat under his command, Riley is driven by a relentless dedication to saving lives and safeguarding the coastal waters. Yet, his sharp instincts and independent opinions often clash with his superiors. The tale unfolds with a series of events that shatter Riley's world: a heart-wrenching breakup, face-offs with great white sharks, and the revelation of a potential threat to American waters. Discredited and denied by higher-ups, Riley finds himself in a harrowing battle, facing court-martial and jail time. Miraculously released from custody, Riley's mission takes a new turn as he becomes the subject of media attention. His missions oscillate between high-stakes rescues and escorting sailboats, all while battling a maelstrom of environmental disasters and hurricanes. The tumultuous seas mirror Riley's internal struggles, as he navigates his place in a world fraught with danger.
