About the author
Dr. R. Alex Hsi is a board certified Radiation Oncologist who received his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 1991. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan followed by a residency in Radiation Oncology at The University of Pennsylvania. He has served as an Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania, Section Chief in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington and Medical Director of the Prostate Cancer Center of Seattle. He was also Co-founder of the Peninsula Cancer Center in Poulsbo, Washington and Medical Director of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Peninsula. He serves as the President of the Board of the Prostate Cancer Free Foundation. Dr. Hsi has performed over a thousand prostate seed brachytherapy procedures and also has special expertise in stereotactic body radiation therapy, MRI fusion transperineal prostate biopsies and focal therapy for prostate cancer. Dr. Hsi is the recipient of several peer reviewed grants and has served as principal investigator of multiple clinical trials involving prostate cancer research.
