When he was only seventeen, Willie Benton was convicted of two counts of Malice Murder. Even though he had narrowly escaped the death sentence, his young life still should have practically been over. Lost to the prison system. Except God had other plans for him and his life.
While his first few years were spent in some of Georgia's worst prisons, Benton entered the system armed with a GED, an incredible focus on freedom, and a strong desire to become a positive and productive citizen. Therefore, while others were engaged with drugs, gambling, stealing, fighting, and homosexual activities, Benton focused on education day and night. Educated vocationally, collegically, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Combining his education with his God-given talents and gifts, Benton has not only written several poems, short stories, skits, booklets, and novels; but he also strategically managed the start-up of a publishing company, QueenZ Courtesy Press. A moving tribute to the strong, supportive women in his life.
