This talented and passionate author wrote over twenty additional poems within the month of January 2021 alone, to not only foster self-healing, but to also help uplift and bless others by the words in this book. About The Author

Shalic Ra is a native Houstonian, who has enjoyed the creative side of her life since a young child. When she drew an exact replica of Rainbow Brite as a 1st grader, her family knew she had an artistic gift. By her college days, her gift soon encapsulated writing short stories and Poetry. After graduating from college, she went on to marry her best friend Roy, and became a proud business owner with her husband. While working fervently towards a common goal so they can travel more, create a Vegan cookbook and enjoy life more abundantly, the shutdown of 2020 occurred. As the Year 2021 was on the horizon, the author and her husband were preparing for the holidays and a New Year, when tragedy struck. On Christmas Day, her husband passed away and her greatest gift was now gone. One of the last heartfelt statements he shared with the author, was to finish her poetry book. He believed in her gift and wanted her to share her talent. This book almost didn't happen because of the intense grief and loss of her husband, but she pushed through the pain so that she could honor him, help in her own healing process and to also bless at least one person with her words.
