Overview
"UNDERPINNING" is designed to help readers build a foundation for their knowledge of force and defensive tactics while reducing liability exposures.
Description
"UNDERPINNING" is a succinct guide tailored for professional defensive tactics instructors in the United States. It is specifically geared toward those without prior law enforcement experience, whether they are instructors or private citizens. Its purpose is to offer valuable insights into the intricate challenges faced by law enforcement officers who operate under the authority of law at the street level. This publication works to establish context for crucial variables that surround and significantly impact tactics, techniques, and procedures taught to the end user. Instructors operating in the post-Ferguson era must grasp these concepts, which extend far beyond physical techniques. This book delves into these foundational concepts, aiming to equip readers with essential knowledge of proven, validated, and legally appropriate materials concerning the use of force in law enforcement in 2023. By employing the training provided by professional defensive tactics instructors, officers can safeguard lives within the community, including their own and that of the suspect, while concurrently reducing liability exposures for both the officer and agency. To set the proper foundation, the book builds on essential data points found within use of force and defensive tactics. Author Todd Fox founded the Close Protection Corps in 1999, with initial services focused on the Latin market. CPC has since operated in 149 countries across the globe. Fox's company became known for protective service operations in challenging environments such as Mexico, Colombia, Haiti, Iraq, Balkans, Turkey, and Russia. The company has performed protective operations across the full spectrum of clients ranging from Supreme Court Justices and UN Officials to Madonna and Janet Jackson.
