The author's goal is to educate children on what Timmy and the other sea turtles must do to survive through the ups and downs of life as a sea turtle. She wants children to see, through a cute cartoon character, that turtles are amazing creatures and that we can learn so much from them. Our planet is home to so many wonderful creatures, and the more we take care of the land and sea, the more we can protect wildlife for generations to come.

He has taught watercolor and acrylic painting classes at high school and college levels as well as cartoon drawing.
