About The Author

Gregory Jeffers' stories have appeared in over two dozen literary magazines and anthologies. Collections of his stories were published in 2020, 2022 and 2025. His story "Quitting Time" was the first-place winner in the 2019 Writer's Digest Short Short Fiction Contest. "Preservation" won first place in the Sixfold Summer 2019 Fiction Competition. "Stoneboat" won the Highly Commended Award in the Newcastle Short Story Awards in 2022. Other stories were short listed for the Himes Prize in 2020, Fish Publishing's 20/21 Short Story Contest, The Writers Magazine 2021 Short Story Contest, the 2021 Tucson Festival of Books, the 2022 Brilliant Flash Fiction annual contest, the 2023 New Millennium Flash Fiction Prize, and the 2023 Fish Short Story Prize. "Frostbite" was nominated for the 2022 "Best American Mystery and Suspense" series. Mr. Jeffers was writer in residence at Craigarden in the summer of 2023. He lives and writes in the Adirondack Mountains and on the island of Vieques with his wife, West Highland Terrier, and occasionally a smattering of his children and grandchildren.
