About the author
The author is an M.D., and a diplomate in surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has had a distinguished career in General Surgery and had a private practice of surgery for over 30 years. He has been chief of staff of his hospital and chief of surgery. He has been president of the Bay Surgical Society, president of his medical fraternity, and president of his medical school class. He has been on the faculty of three medical schools and is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at U.C.L.A. He has been on the attending surgical staff of the Veterans Administration Hospital since 1967.
