Overview
Through years of frustration, the Boston Red Sox have failed to win the World Series. Four 12-year-olds from Massachusetts have decided they're going to help their beloved team win the World Series and put their imaginative plan into action.
Description
It's the year 2024, and your beloved baseball team hasn't won the World Series for twenty years, long before you were born. You're worried the Curse has descended on the Red Sox again and that they won't win for another eighty-six years. So your and your buddies (and your cat) put together a Plan to win the Series again, even if you have to steal it for the sox. If you've ever loved or hated the Boston Red Sox, stolen a base or tried to, rooted for the underdog, taken a baseball blove to a game, crossed your fingers, or yelled at the ump--this is the book you've been waiting for.
About the author
A lifelong, fiercely partisan Boston Red Sox fan, Gerard Purciello spends quite a lot of time "waiting 'til next year." but he remains stubbornly optimistic. His poems and a short story were published in his college literary magazine at Broward Community College, and he is at work on two other novels. Injured in an automobile accident when he was 18, Gerard is a paraplegic who hopes to motivate other people with disabilities to overcome the odds.
