The Third Eye, is the story of an African American Fulbright Scholar on assignment to create a jazz program at the classically oriented Academy of Arts/University of Novi Sad, Serbia. The book shows him assessing and creating a meaningful workshop for the classical students, "On-the-fly", who speak a completely different language, learn at a different rate, and follow a completely different economic system. This book explains in detail-in his own words-the precepts, concepts, and methods of his creative 'thought' process. Teaching the students to flow freely, improvising on the spot. We see the feelings, thoughts, and reactions to situations that unexpectedly arise in this foreign Republic and how he meets a group of people, of all ages, that will forever change is life. This book gives the point of view of an accomplished New York City jazz musician, Ivy League educated instrumentalist, singer, composer, and producer, who trains these Serbian university & community students to play, sing the blues, and learn Negro Spirituals in 2 months. The successes of the program leads to the community wanting development of The Serbia Children's JazzFest.

Antonio Darryl Underwood, is a graduate of the Yale School of Music with a concentration in Classical Tuba. Winner of the Alumni Prize for outstanding contribution in the Yale environment, and the Cultural Center Award of Merit, for contribution in the African American community, Antonio was featured at the New York Brass Conference, 2 years, with the College of New Jersey, under the direction of the late, Dr. David A. Uber. A New York Philharmonic & Aspen Music Festival Fellowship to the Aspen Music Festival, Colorado [1986-87], Tony was sent to the University of Southern California to study Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television on the recommendation of George Lucas; studying exclusively with Norman Dale “Buddy” Baker. The Late Mary Perry Smith, then, President of the Black Film Makers Hall of Fame, contacted a Lucas representative. At Scoring school, is where he developed the production company, Tone East Music LLC/TEM Technology. He composed, performed, programmed, mixed, and produced 13 independent CD's to date.
