Overview
From the music of legendary singer/songwriter Jim Morris comes The Tales of Tarpon Jim. The pretty bartender is shocked when a crusty old, washed up fisherman finally starts telling his stories. The fantastic tales he tells are each proven true when they take a last boat journey through the Keys. He's amazed that the grateful people of the Conch Republic haven't forgotten. She's amazed at what she learns at every port. A heartwarming story of a great man who lived a life that most of us can only read about. Another wonderful fable from the incredible music of the late, great, Jim Morris.
Description
He worked on the water and cursed the wind. The years in the sun, burned deep in his skin. The pretty bartender knew the rum-swilling old fisherman had a story to tell if she could just get him to speak. When he finally started talking, the fascinating stories he told were amazing accounts of a remarkable life. The Tales of Tarpon Jim is a captivating story that spans Southern Florida, from Charlotte Harbor to Flamingo, from Islamorada and Key West to Biscayne Bay. An old fisherman's journey through the Keys uncovering long forgotten accounts of a man who lived, loved, and lost, then finds redemption where he least expects it.
About the author
Jim Morris was an articulate singer/songwriter with a devotion to storytelling. In the early '90's, Jim quit his corporate career to pursue his music. His fans, once stretching across all of Florida, soon followed him from around the world. As his fan base grew, he spread his wings, playing shows from Belize to Tahiti, around the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. Unfortunately, in July of 2016, while touring with his band in Seattle, Jim died suddenly. His music and his legacy, however, refuse to die, carried on by his band and thousands of rabid fans. Jim's twenty-seven albums, filled mostly with original music, he wrote while staked out on a beach or floating on his boat, continue to thrill his fans and inspire the hundreds of musicians who follow in his now well-established path.
