Description
Why is coaching in organisations growing in popularity? Why do organisations need a coaching culture? The answer for many organisations is the search for competitive advantage and success in an ever changing world. The word coach is derived from the method of horse drawn transport – which was the quickest way to get from A to B. Today, the word has come to mean, in many quarters, an intervention that facilitates an individual unlocking their full potential. The sole purpose of this business book is to enable you to ‘make a difference’ in your organisation; continuing the tradition of helping people to get from A to B more quickly. Business coaching is now a global phenomenon with billions spent on interventions. Yet most of this money is wasted due to a lack of focus on what works and what doesn’t – organisations keep making the same expensive mistakes. This book will help you to make sure that you don’t follow this trend. Unlocking the potential of coaching in an organisational context is difficult. The importance of a fully engaged and motivated workforce is acknowledged yet rarely achieved. A team coaching culture offers a way forward to releasing the power of employee potential and encouraging discretionary effort and commitment. By understanding the complexities involved in developing an organisational coaching culture, including coaching assessment, the challenges and barriers, you will be ready and prepared to help your organisation begin or refresh its coaching journey. The Secrets of Organisational Coaching by Dr Paul Turner brings both coaching knowledge and coaching practise together and will help you develop a strategic blue-print and route map for coaching and mentoring success. The18 Chapters contain ideas, insights and inspiration, including: • Coaching - 10 Key Insights • A Coaching Model for Line Managers • The Key Ingredients of a Coaching Culture Read on and discover strategies, models and tools to help you make coaching a success in your workplace.
