Overview
Visiting the traveling wall initiated a recounting of events from my perspective, as a member I 3/5 1st Marine division, serving in Vietnam. An un folding of events and circumstances are presented chronologically that examine how a young Marine grew and developed the skills, determination and responsibility to find his way in combat. Learning to help others through the process was to become a focus. Learning quickly or perishing, I would learn a great deal about myself and much more about others. I learned to feel I had a purpose in Nam; A true understanding as to WHY I made it home came much later in my life! An epiphany that awakened as the book unfolded! Not until I understood that my daughter's presence was necessary did the concept of FATE become clear to me as well as what had been meant for me to accomplish In Vietnam.
