Overview

Five boys accidentally cross into an alternate world (called a phase) that soon turns into a series of alternaties while they encounter many dangers and creatures in their attempt to get back home. Each phase they enter contains life forms that offer their assistance toward their journey home even though none of them understand the phases or how they work until they are rescued by an alien ship whose crew appears to have all the answers.

Description

Unknown to the world at large, the earth has a multitude of alternative dimensions co-existing at the same time on its surface. These alternate worlds are called phases and are partially controlled by the magnetic fields and other naturally occuring electomagnetic forces. There exists interconnection points called Neutral Points where denizens of one world can cross into one of the others. In addition, other crossing points appear randomly and then disappear due to the fluxuation of the fields. Five young boys accidentally cross one of these random points and find themselves trapped in a world of giant sword-wielding ants who possess telepathic powers. They enlist their aid in returning home but the ants do not understand how the phases work and the boys are transported to yet another phase with a race similar to the egyptians of earth. Again they gain help only to be trapped in a world filed with dinosaurs. Eventually the boys are rescued by a race of aliens that not only understand the phases but use them regularly. The aliens are as eager to return them home as the boys are to get there.
