Overview
"The Naked Beach" is the final book in the Harry Powers' seven-book series, "The Innocent Sensualist." Half of the 28 chapters have been published in literary quarterlies. The realism of Harry's "adventures" most resembles the sensual portrayals of Henry Miller, Hemingway, Thomas Wolfe, and Charles Bukowski: The sinner/saint grandma on the dirty little Nebraska farm during The Great Depression, the harsh humor/tragedy of Basic Training, the two stubborn but passionate virgins, the Lt. Colonel's wife in Holland, Mara, the good-hearted whore, in Rome. innocent orgies in the wild '60's, the dangerous baby sitter, the Preacher Lady and other 53 personal-ad women. And the naked beach.
