About the author
Penelope Torribio calls herself an ecology artist in that she uses art, music, poetry, storytelling, puppetry and photography to help raise awareness of our need to live in balance with all the elements of our world and beyond. As a songwriter and family performer Penelope has written numerous children's musical puppet shows on topics such as: “The Rain is Coming,” rain forest ecology: "Dinosaur Dance, how not to become extinct, "Under the Blue Blue Sea," ocean ecology, "Out in Outer Space," space ecology; and songs for young children, "Guardians of the Earth." These ecology musicals provide some of the songs for Penelope’s many children’s albums. Penelope is also the creator of numerous children's relaxation DVDs , such as Take Ten, Ten Minutes in Nature, Volume 1, “Bugs and Those Who Love Them.” These DVDs, combine beautiful child friendly relaxing music with Penelope’s nature photography. Her latest books are: "Einstein in My Garden, Photos and Reflections on Bugs" and "Never Get Too Close to a Fish," about the death of a pet. Penelope believes in encouraging ecology without fear and she has a mission to help bring music and art back into the schools.
