This book is a sisters' collaboration, Mary Mahon's writing comes from her love of animals and storytelling. She has rescued and adopted many animals and volunteered with animal rescue groups in California and Georgia. Mary studied in the U.C.L.A. Extension Writers' Program.Her background is in psychology with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Southern California. She also has an M.A. in Sociology in the area of social psychology from U.C.S.B. and additional doctoral credits in clinical psychology. In addition to writing, Mary enjoys nature, travel and photography. Mary is from Los Angeles and now lives in Roswell, Georgia.
Laura Calhoun Mahon is a contemporary artist and former Montessori teacher, trained in dance, yoga and creative movement. She taught nursery school and underprivileged teens at the Curro Velho Art Foundation. Her artwork has continued to deepen into inquiries of the elements, their properties, through working with textiles, using brushwork, wax, pigmentation, dyes, fluid acrylics and now, digital media. Laura has created site specific interactive installations in Brazil and New York City.Laura now divides her time between New York City and Sunrise Lake, PA.
