Dr Emerson was born in Pittsburgh in 1950 and raised in New Jersey and Southern California. He went to dental school in San Francisco in 1975. When he is not doing dentistry or writing about the Integral worldview, he hikes the hills in Almaden Valley in San Jose with his wife and corgi.
