About the author
Murli Melwani taught English Literature at Sankardev College, Shillong, India, before making a mid-career change to head an export company in Taiwan. He moved to the U.S. in 2005, after 25 years in Taiwan.
His published work includes “Stories of a Salesman” Writers Workshop 1967(a second edition appeared in 1979), a play in Three Acts. “Deep Roots,” 1973, and a book of criticism, “Themes in the Indian Short Story in English: An Historical and a Critical Survey”(2009) .
He is a two-time nominee for the Pushcart Prize, in 2012 and 2013. One of my stories made the list of “storySouth Million Writers Award notable stories of 2012”. Another was nominated for “Best of the Net2013” prize run by Sundress Publications,USA. A third, first published in a U.S magazine, was included in the “2013 New Asian Short Story Anthology”.
He lives in Plano, Texas, and is an occasional contributor to The Dallas Morning News
