Description
This book is the genealogical record of the Hugo Family beginning in the early 1600, but tracing certain branches back to William the Conqueror and earlier. The family was involved in ship building and sailing and many member's left their home in England to settle in Australia, and Canada, and later, the United States.
About the author
Born in 1930. Parents went to Miraj, India in 1931. Attended boarding school in KodaiKanal, So. India from 1939-1946. Returned to the United States in 1946. Graduated from High School Princeton, N.J. I 1948. Graduated from Macalester College, St. Paul, MN 1952. Married Merton Hegseth in 1952 Husband was a geology major and worked for oil exploration companies until 1964. In 1965 we moved to Northfield, MN. Husband died in 1993 and, in 1998, Virginia moved to SaddleBrooke, AZ and became involved in Genealogy. She is a member of DAR, Colonial Dames XV11C, Order of the Crown of Charlemagne and many other genealogical societies, and written other books tracing various branches of her family.
