The House On Hartsook Street

Although Michael Mc Ginnis has been writing verse for many years, and has contributed to several literary publications, The House on Hartsook Street is his first collection of poems. They provide a unique look at the life of a show business family making their way in the 1970’s, and a universal retrospective of the poet’s life journey. During his long career as singer, songwriter, actor, artist, and storyteller, Mc Ginnis performed with, and for a time, directed the music for, the internationally popular New Christy Minstrels. He has toured extensively as a solo performer, and with his own band The Rodeo Gypsies as well. He has seven major label recordings to his credit, and was the first artist to produce a full-length music video for EMI. He currently records for SHADOW HILLS RECORDS. Many major artists including Kim Carnes, Don Henley, Michael Mc Donald, Wayne Newton, and Captain Kangaroo have recorded his songs. As an actor he has appeared on episodic TV, and in commercials and feature films. He currently divides his time between Los Angeles and the Pacific Northwest, where he serves during the summer, as a song leader, a story teller, and “The Pappy” in youth resident camps.
