Overview
Although Michael Mc Ginnis has been writing verse for many years, and has contributed to several literary publications, The House on Hartsook Street is his first collection of poems. They provide a unique look at the life of a show business family making their way in the 1970’s, and a universal retrospective of the poet’s life journey.

This book of poems is an amends of sorts for a life gone wrong in the 1970's as a result of alcohol and drug addiction, although it has nothing to do with either of these subjects. It is a collection of observations of the authors family and their life together during and since that period. It contains poems of love, humor, poems about pets, poems about food with recipes, and concludes with a collection of lyrics written by the author during that time. The hard copy comes with a CD of recordings of these songs. The subject matter is personal and intimate, yet universally applicable. The book has been called heart breaking yet happy, and with a most unusual take on life.
