"The Get Away Boat: is a 500 word children's picture book. Its thirty beautiful illustraitons entice your child first to listen and then to read the story: The beaver dam broke and a monster wave is comming! What will and will not float? Three little lizards and an old grandpa need to figure it out fast! The book's editor, a Florida State first-grade teacher, guided the book toward use in her classroom. To her student's delight, she used it in her science unit to help teach principles of sink and float. Second and third graders loved reading it themselves and also gave the book a "thumbs up."
