Overview
Ava Reed is a perfectly ordinary girl living in Denver, Colorado. Raven Monclare is a trained killer with potent magical powers. In one hour, in one heart-wrenching, blood-pounding hour, everything as Ava knows it changes entirely when she is forced to go on the run after a horrific event, brought on by Raven and her forces, rips Ava's family completely apart. Pursued fiercely at every twist and turn, Ava and her brother plot revenge--that is, until Ava discovers that she shares something in common with Raven so propelling, it drives them to team up to face the most deadly enemy they both share. This action-packed novel, at every turn of the page, beautifully explores trust and betrayal, friends and foes, life and death, and the overwhelming desire to know your heart when you barely know who you are to begin with.

About the author
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Khalil A found himself wildly enthused by a number of activities such as running track, being a member of his high school's marching band, and going to nature camps before all of his passion settled on writing both fiction and poetry. Legally blind due to congenital glaucoma, Khalil A does not view his disability as an obstacle, but prefers to regard this as a blessing; in fact, Khalil A attributes being legally blind to his love of writing vibrant descriptions across every page. Khalil A strives to use his vivid imagination and his deft wielding of words to create a more beautiful world for all. Readers can undoubtedly expect more works of art from Khalil A in the very near future as he pushes all limits of his creativity to their extremes.
