Overview
This interactive golf field manual will help you create the mental and physical golf game you have been looking for. It contains equal parts philosophical wisdom, to overcome the mental side of the game, and practical applications to produce actual results.
Description
This book sets itself apart by offering a unique blend of practical and philosophical guidance designed to help readers not only enjoy but excel in their golf game. It presents a collection of 18 engaging short stories, each loosely connected to the four noble truths of Buddhism and the eightfold path, to help readers learn to overcome life's challenges. This is not a Buddhist book on golf, but this book does utilize the teachings of Eastern philosophy as a framework for universal truth that can improve our quality of life on and off the course. The book also has aspects that tie back to the author's experiences as a youth golfer who hadn't developed these skills yet, which led him to quit the game for 25 years. His personal stories of learning from his transgressions before developing into a happier, more content golfer and person will help readers build the best relationship they've ever had with the game. The primary goal of the book is for the reader to see how using meditation and mindfulness practices on the course can help them be better golfers. Even more so, they can use these lessons off the course to produce the highest quality of happiness and contentment with their lives and the people around them.
About the author
Brian has had an interesting love affair with golf. Like everyone who has played the game, there have been moments of pure love and the highest of highs, but there have also been moments of despair and anger that have made him question why he even pays to play it. He wears many hats and has many interests, all of which have contributed to the development of his writing style and what he wishes to share with others. Some of those hats are Father, Son, Husband, Titleist Performance Institute Certified, and Functional Movement Systems Certified. Brian hopes to help everyone develop the essential skills to thrive on the fairway and hopes people will use those same skills off the course to live more content, relationally healthy lives.
