The Ensuing – an illustrated novel is a fantasy adventure that delves into the intimate, everyday lives of characters from a lush, wonderful meadow and a beautiful nearby woodland. Etch, who is a Chickadee, and Wire, who is a nuthatch, are best friends. Together they show us their loving, festive community called Nomna's Meadow. Through lazy summer days of playing in Emily's fascinating water sculpture fountains and orchards to exploring the unconventional, yet elegant, mansions of The Elite Estates of La Verde Bosque Bokusouchi to the peculiar happenings they experience that they do not understand and cannot quite explain, we are taken on a journey. What secrets symbols do the old, once vibrant, now decaying black oak tree grove hide and why is Etch so enamored by them? Are there ancient hidden passageways buried deep underneath the peaceful community? Who created them? Where do these passageways lead and why have they been abandoned? Etch and Wire begin to unravel the mystery of these strange occurrences and wonder what it all could mean. Come fly, romp and play in the tall grasses and wildflowers, explore other places beyond their neighborwood … far, far beyond. "As an author, I aspired to create a story I would want to read. As an artist, I wanted to develop all the artwork to accompany my story. I create artwork through traditional Painting, Printmaking, Bronze casting and Ceramics sculpture and Digital Painting / Illustration. These different art making methods add to the fulness I wish to achieve in revealing to my readers and viewers the visual world of my stories." This is my first novel, released as a series.
