The Cross

"The Cross" is a deeply contemplative work in the style of Teresa of Avila's "Interior Castle" or John of the Cross' "Ascent of Mount Carmel," but with a contemporary twist, including reflections on correspondences between modern physics and theology. "The Cross" is a work of spiritual and doctrinal theology thoroughly based on the Bible, but from a Catholic perspective. The book presents the Cross of Jesus Christ as the key to understanding divine revelation, Catholic doctrine (including the difficult subjects of Free Will, Predestination, and the Atonement), and the spiritual life. Its premise is that human limitations offer no impediment to God's revelation of Himself but are the fertile means by which we come to know the grace of God. The Cross shows us not only the value of human suffering united to the sacrifice of Jesus, but also the interior working of the life of the Trinity expressed through His High Priesthood.
