Overview
John Mauldin's leading an idyllic and tranquil life until one morning, his old Houston detective friend, Larry Wagner, shows up unexpectedly at John's office. Larry announces that he's come to look into several cold cases involving the deaths of Cynthia and David Arbogast, mainly since his retirement has become boring. Around the same time, Mauldin acquires a new client, Priscilla Brown, who retains him to help negotiate the sale of some multi-million-dollar stock in a closely-held company that her deceased husband acquired a long time ago. As Larry turns up new and interesting circumstances of the deaths and Mauldin finds his client threatened, the two projects gradually merge, the circumstances of the deaths are finally made clear, another death occurs, and the evil-doers are identified.
