Sean began his art career in 1965 at the age of 5 selling drawings of cars in his front yard for a nickle each, and using the proceeds to buy Matchbox toy cars for his extensive collection. At the age of 7, Sean had his first exhibition at the Hilton Leech Gallery in Sarasota, Florida, in collaboration with his father, sculptor Frank Colson. Equally fascinated by vehicles and people, Sean worked in clay and bronze, as well as on paper. Whimsical figures emerged: cowboys riding dolphins, whales turned into jets, clay "gingerbread men" styled after medieval knights. Today, Sean earns his living as the sole proprietor of Shellspen.com Art Supplies, which carters to sculptors. He and his Hungarian wife produce illustrations and sculptures. He has continued to sculpt in clay and bronze, and created many original sculptures. His drawings continue to feature "vehicles and people" as they always have. They have a special style of positive thought, designed to enlighten, and to fill the world with love, joy and peace. He sells prints of his drawings at art shows. Examples of Sean Colson's work can be seen on his web site, www.ColsonCreations.com
