About the author
As a small child, DeVon Nelson loved reading books, which established the foundation for her eventual literary career. She would read for hours, never dreaming that one day she too would put pen to paper. Born in Waukegan, Ill., - the setting for her first novel – DeVon earned her B.A. from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Ill., where she majored in journalism and received an associate degree in sociology. During her writing career, she has worked in advertising, public relations and several years as a reporter for the News Sun in Waukegan and correspondent for the Chicago Tribune.
