About the author

MARY DAVIS (born January 22, 1974) is the author of The Adventures of Claire and Her Jelly Hair. Davis has recently been labeled as Grand-Mary with her first grandchild Claire Hazel Davis, born in 2022, the inspiration and star of her book series. Mary Davis has been married to Scott Davis for the past 29 years who also was a huge inspiration and has shown loving support in the creation of this book. They both have raised two amazing young adults Amanda and Justin. Justin is Claire's Father in the book, and his wife Savannah is the inspiration for mom. Amanda was the first to suggest that Mary write a children's book and within a short time this book was created. Amanda was a wonderful resource in the editing process. Mary has always had a love and gift for little ones and has always been mesmerized by children's spongy brain development. She feels reading to children at a young age helps children grasp simple concepts of the world in manageable chunks and is an important part of brain development. She babysat many children in her younger years, nannied for a period, and started and co-directed Crosspoint Clubhouse in McKinney, TX over 25 years ago which continues to educate the youngest about the wonders of this world. She also substituted for many years in the Carroll ISD teaching children of many ages. Furthermore, Mary, homeschooled her own children for a few years who both ended up being engineers later in life. Mary Davis continues to share her passion of love and family in her real estate career in Southlake, TX where she lives when not reading or writing books. In her younger years, Mary, grew up in a small town just outside of Springfield, IL called Riverton. In her early grade school years, she would spend as much time as she could outside and with friends. She would catch tadpoles and snakes, go fishing, and make forts in the woods. She would gather friends to do parades with all their red wagons and banana seat bikes and even taught herself to do backflips in the yard and flips off her playset. When the cold and snow came, she would build igloos and long curvy fast sled runs, and ice skate on the pond. Her best days of her younger years were spent outside creating her own adventures. For pleasure, Mary loves to travel the world with her husband, family, and friends. She is always up for an adventure even if it is just a hike in the woods or trying a new restaurant. Mary loves to entertain, celebrate the holidays, and pours out her heart and soul into all those she has around her. Mary is a lover of life and wants to reflect those simple lessons in which her books contain.
