Overview

Who Are These Two? Or more appropriately – Who were these two? Read through this amazing memoir and decide for yourself. We've seen and experienced things you would not believe! Lima, Peru: The golden-white color of the tequila represented not only the fire of my spirit but my many otherworldly experiences, while the chocolate symbolized the sweetness of my journeys through the many lands of the Earth. With the night wind blowing its Peruvian breath through the window, images of my past experiences streamed through my mind as I chased my tequila with a bit of chocolate: my vision of the star and hearing the voice from heaven; the blazing red eyes of a long-dead monk; gigantic pillars of light—angels—and glowing gigantic green rocks that grew from small ones; spirit dancing in the smokehouses of British Columbia; downing bottles of posh (cane alcohol or what I call shamanic white lightning) in a night-long ceremony in the highlands of Mexico with a Zinacantec (Bat) shaman; receiving a message from a spirit-man at midnight outside the sacred city of Teotihuacán; being clawed by a jaguar shape-shifter under a pyramid in the Yucatan jungles; knowing Oneness after a descending spirit exorcism at midnight in front of a mausoleum on the sacred mountain of Kōyasan, Japan; chased by killer bees after almost dying—my death initiation—on a mountain peak in Peru; a hungry Hawaiian spirit, the flying meatloaf; the gate-keeping dwarf of Machu Picchu; the "hidden ones" of Iceland; the Yakuza and the wounded vet, and so many other experiences. Our stories are not your usual run-of-the-mill memoirs, but are meant to teach. Spread throughout are spiritual and philosophical lessons which we hope will assist you in your own journey of life. These tales are all true. They are not by any means the sum of our adventures, which would extend into hundreds and hundreds of pages, but a few we choose to tell. Please enjoy our adventures of this world and the Otherworld as you far-travel with us.

Description

Far traveling, wandering to distant lands into the unknown, is necessary for awakening and spiritual power. A far traveler begins and then knows spirit of place. In other words, a far traveler is a spiritual pilgrim ever seeking the mysterium tremendum, the awe-inspiring mystery of the unknown. The blood-pulsing passion of life is found at the edge of the unknown. Far traveling is not vacation. It is not traveling to a place just because it is the “in thing,” as it is to go to Iceland, and years ago, sadly, Machu Picchu. A far traveler goes on holiday, or holy day, and is not a tourist but an adventurer, a pilgrim of spirit on a journey of self-knowledge. Pilgrimage means going out and finding something. And that something equates to many things: our true self, compassion, love of self and nature, and accepting and understanding our self and others not like us. One of the best-known of these adventures is the Quest for the Holy Grail.

Far travel as a sacred pilgrimage extends back into the very haze of humanity’s awakening. It has long been a source and wellspring of religious culture and myth. Seeking over the far horizon stirs the very lifeblood of the far traveler in their on-going quest for the magic and power of the unfamiliar, and their ever-aliveness of that moment of sacred space and sacred time. To quest is to feel alive; to feel alive is to quest.

JC has had four major, personal, and direct firsthand experiences of the Otherworld. The first was his descending spirit exorcism in 1987, the initial quickening of his awakening mind and a knowing of radical nondualistic interpenetrating reality. In 1993, he experienced the divine call, both as something heard and something seen in the form of a vision and a voice. This was his awakening as the Morning Star. In 1995, his third major direct experience was with the Spirit Man of Teotihuacán, who identified him as the mind and soul of Quetzalcóatl – the Morning Star. The fourth major firsthand experience in 1997 was a visitation in the form of three immense pillars of light. These were angels announcing who Sherry and JC were in a previous lifetime.
