Description
"Tehachapi Wildlife" is a unique collection of animal and landscape photographs taken by Randy Weinstein on his property in the Tehachapi Mountains of California. Shot over a period of seven years, this book contains photos of the area's most popular animals, including deer, elk, bobcats and condors, as well as beautiful sunsets & landscapes. When Randy moved up to the Tehachapi Mountains in 2015, he figured he would be lucky to see the occasional deer or rabbit in his yard. But soon after moving in, the most incredible assortment of animals began appearing outside his windows. He saw glimpses of a bobcat hunting in the tall grass, California condors circling overhead, and even a lone bull elk, unbothered, eating acorns in the shade of an oak tree. Hoping to share these moments with family and friends, he started grabbing his camera and posting the results online. Slowly, his photos began to improve (helped along by a few much-needed equipment upgrades) and wildlife photography became a bonafide hobby. No longer shocked to see a family of foxes strolling through the garden, he began to slow down and focus more on the lighting and how to best frame his shots. The purpose of this book was to document these efforts over the last 7 years and hopefully introduce the incredible local wildlife to an even larger audience.
