About the author
Denmark Peoples is a writer, artist, activist, and published author with a penchant for writing children's books. As a child, Denmark wrote poetry, short stories, and lyrics, which birthed in him a passion for writing that he still has today. As Peoples began developing interest in children's books, he came across so many books targeting black children, but most were written by authors who had not lived the experience they wrote about. This stirred in him an intense desire to tell authentic stories that reflected the actual life of the neighborhoods he grew up and lived in.
