About the author
Russell Goodacre is a young man from Ijamsville, Maryland, who loves sports and has had many unique experiences while overcoming obstacles when he was younger with dyslexia. He went to The Lab School of Washington from 2nd grade through high school, where he received proper help in the classroom. There he learned different strategies and approaches to complete his schoolwork and grow in the classroom successfully. He then went on to Shepherd University for an undergraduate in Sport Communication. He was a Quality Control Coach for the Shepherd University Rams football program and a co-sports director of the campus radio station WSHC 89.7 FM. After Shepherd, he completed his master's at Georgetown University, studying Sports Industry Management. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Russell Goodacre got a unique opportunity to help with the COVID response in many ways. He experienced success and hardships during this time, and it inspired him to write his memoir Tackling Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities: A Memoir by Russell Goodacre to help people with learning disabilities know they can succeed while having their own struggles with a learning disability.
