About the author

Maryam Smith is a licensed psychologist, a vocalist, an occasional poet and a spiritual seeker. She was born in Tehran, Iran. Her father was a poet and writer. Exposure to Persian poetry, particularly the works of Hafiz and Rumi, was an integral part of family gatherings in her childhood. They left a mark on her understanding and valuation of the transcendental aspect of poetry and the arts from an early age.

She moved to London, England in her early teens where she pursued her curiosity of sciences and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. During this time, she also nurtured her natural inclination to explore various spiritual teachings on the evolution of consciousness such as the Fourth Way method. Her inner work was catalyzed by Avatar Sri Sathya Sai Baba who appeared in her life and made His presence known to her, when it was time. Maryam moved to the United States in the late eighties and currently resides in Northern California working as a psychologist with those behind bars.

Maryam dedicates her work to Sri Sathya Sai Baba by helping transform hearts and lives of others through social service and the arts; just as He graced and transformed her life with His presence and immense Love.
