About The Author
Born in Tucson, Arizona, Dr. Edward L. Wright spent most of his early years in Denver, Colorado as the youngest of eight siblings. He was raised in a musically talented family that led to his playing the clarinet and saxophone. Throughout his early years, he enjoyed reading authors such as James Baldwin, Richard Wright, and Gwendolyn Brooks, all of whom inspired him to create poetry.
Dr. Wright received a baccalaureate in Communications from the University of Colorado (Boulder), and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. He also received a Joint Doctorate in Educational Administration from California State University, Fresno and the University of California (Davis).
During his years earning a baccalaureate degree, he received a commission into the United States Air Force and served honorably on active duty for nine years. He also worked in various capacities within employment development and the California Community College system. Dr. Wright currently works with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a field examiner protecting the financial assets of veterans with disabilities.
Dr. Wright resides in Ohio and is married to Darryl Ann Wright, a special needs educator, and entrepreneur of Deanna Adelle, Inc. Dr. Wright has four adult children and is the proud grandfather of three adorable granddaughters Mylae Grace, Amiya Faith, and Alani Roselyn and one grandson, Jameson.
Within the rhythm of his poetry, he exemplifies and encourages readers to continue to remain steadfast and rely upon God for infinite wisdom. His lyrical poems have captivated audiences through his enduring passion for Christ. The uniqueness of his poems also provides audiences an opportunity to reflect on their own spiritual journey.
